AUDITIONING FOR AJKUN BALLET THEATRE
Ajkun Ballet Theatre is always interested in talented dancers and arts professionals,
whether experienced or talented first-timers.
AjkunBT prides itself in providing opportunities to artists of all citizenships,
as we consider diversity an enrichment to the arts community.
Yearly Company contracts are 48 weeks (fulltime) or 23-26 weeks (partime).
Qualifying dancers may be referred to AjkunBT's Partners in Dance for employment,
a worldwide network of over 100 dance companies sharing our vision to open the avenues of opportunities to younger dancers of any citizenship.
AUDITION OPTIONS
DANCERS can audition IN PERSON or BY DVD. CHOREOGRAPHERS must pre-audition BY DVD.
AUDITION IN PERSON
Dancers may audition during Company Class, Ajkun Open Classes or at one of our Open Auditions.
Attendance of Company Class is available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Attendance of Ajkun Open Class in New York City is available in September, January, February and June.

AUDITION BY DVD
(AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND)
DVD must be recorded in American System Format or an online link may be typed on the Audition Form.
Please include your resume, headshot (labeled with your name) and contact details,
along with a cover letter indicating the position and/or grant you are seeking from Ajkun Ballet Theatre.
DANCERS: DVD should present a classical variation and/or center work. Dance photos (no photocopies) are appreciated. Professional dancers seeking employment with Ajkun Ballet Theatre may be invited to take Company Class for further consideration.
CHOREOGRAPHERS: DVD should present excerpts from your original work along with self-explanatory literature. Please note that Ajkun Ballet Theatre presents in The United States and Europe, so interviews may be set in either country depending on your location.
PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUISITES
We urge that only serious and qualified artists apply. Please list on your resume all pertinent information concerning your training and professional experience.
If you are not a United States citizen, please indicate your citizenship and be aware that Ajkun Ballet Theatre's policy provides equal opportunity regardless of citizenship.
DANCERS: Minimum age 14 years old (Summer Trainee) or 16 years old (Company and Fulltime Trainee) with strong training in Ballet. Additional Modern Dance training preferred but not required.
CHOREOGRAPHERS: Minimum age 16 years old with strong background in Ballet of Modern Dance.
