Ajkun Ballet Theatre welcomes Young Dance Students interested in learning about the professional dance world and experiencing participation to ballet productions suitable for children.
Exposure to the life of a professional company provides the dual opportunity of educating children to the arts while allowing an informative career choice when age is appropriate.
Our Artistic Staff welcomes inquires from Parents and Educators seeking for assistance in furthering Young Dancers' Training and/or an evaluation on individual cases.

The Nutcracker and/or AjkunBT's Young Dancer Programs
THE NUTCRACKER
Children aged 6 to 13 years old are offered the opportunity to perform in
AjkunBT & NRHS- PAVE's Nutcracker production held every year
in December at the New Rochelle's High School.
Children's rehearsals are held once a week in November and December and are available, free of charge and without an audition, to all participants to the performance.
AJKUNBT YOUNG DANCER PROGRAMS:
1- SUMMER PROGRAM: July 27th throughout August 15th, 2009 in Albany (NY).
Young dancers partake to daily CLASSES and weekly LECTURES taught by Company Artists and have the opportunity to assist to our Company Dancers' training and rehearsals. All participants will PERFORM in the Company's production and will interact with Company Dancers mentoring the program.
ADMISSION
Granted on a first-come first serve basis, to the exhaustion of the limited places available. Dancers need to be aged 9 to 14 years old at time of participation in the program. The program best suits participants who have achieved a basic level of ballet training.
CLASSES OFFERED
Training is offered in Ballet, Pointe*, Pilates and Repertory classes and rehearsals. Lectures are offered in Ballet Terminology, Dance History and Pas de Deux (performed by Company's professional dancers). *(admission to Pointe classes only available to qualifying children, as determined by AjkunBT's Faculty).
PROGRAM GOALS
To develope well-rounded dancers with emphasis on classical ballet technique in a professional - yet nurturing- environment. To offer natural knowledge of classroom & rehearsal etiquette while inspiring children thru exposure to the daily routine of a professional company. To pay particular attention to preventing muscular skeletal injuries (MSI) in a child's training by providing young dancers with the necessary tools for a healthy physical activity.
PROGRAM LOCATION
AjkunBT's Summer Residency at THE EGG Performing Arts Center, Empire Plaza, Albany (NY).
Additional Performance Tour in NEW YORK CITY is optional and takes place during the following week. Supervised Housing available.
2- MASTER CLASS & WORKSHOPS in NEW YORK CITY
Group of 10-25 dancers visiting New York City may attend
a Single Class or a Workshop taught by AjkunBT Dancers and stay throughout the day to watch the Company's Rehearsal or Performance.
This opportunity, part of the Company's Outreach Programs, is available by appointment only. Group of Young Dancers can choose to attend, in any combination: Ballet, Pointe, Variation, Repertory offered at beginners, intermediate, advanced levels.
